Fire Door Installation
CDM work closely with several of the UK’s leading fire door manufacturers, in which we source third party certified door sets through either BWF-CERTIFIRE scheme (label) or BM TRADA Q-Mark (Plug), all door sets are UKAS accredited.
All CDM’s fire door engineers are trained to the highest standards within their fields and undergo continuous professional development.
CDM have dedicated supervisors who oversee the everyday activities to ensure the highest level of workmanship is carried out and as a result our clients only receive the highest of quality finishes.

Fire Door Maintenance
A critical part of fire doors is that they are correctly maintained throughout their lifespan to ensure that in the event of a fire they perform to the standard and fire resistance as the day they were installed.
CDM’s engineers are trained to maintain doors by replacing the doors components should they become damaged or worn such as intumescent strips, hinges, adjust/ replacing door closers. CDM also have the level of knowledge and expertise to know when a door has passed its maintenance and required a replacement in order to offer the correct fire resistance rating.
The fire risk assessment and amount of traffic the doorset is subject to will determine the wear and tear and the maintenance required.
Penetration Sealants
All buildings have services going in/ out such as electricity, plumbing and broadband. Each time these services are installed a penetration is made through either; walls, floors or ceilings. It is fundamental that any gaps or openings caused by these penetrations are correctly fire stopped using approved and appropriate materials.
Our team of fire stopping specialist use penetration seals as part of a fully complaint fire stopping strategy to meet the buildings fire rating needs.
Accreditations
FIRAS
Warringtonfire’s FIRAS scheme for installers has been instrumental in improving the installation and maintenance standards of passive and active fire protection products and systems.
FIRAS is the mark of endorsement of competency in the installation of products and systems, vital for achieving the protection required.
FIRAS is a voluntary, third-party certification scheme for installation contractors of both passive and active fire protection systems, operated by Warringtonfire and accredited by UKAS to BS EN ISO/IEC 17065:2012.
Why choose a FIRAS certified installation contractor?
FIRAS certified contractors are required to undergo a three-stage assessment process, and only when the applicant contractor has satisfied all of these criteria is certification granted:
- Assessment of office management systems
- Assessment of workmanship of site for all trade disciplines for which certification is sought
- Competence assessment of supervisory and installation employees
FIRAS certified contractors are subject to an annual audit of their offices and ongoing, random surveillance site inspections where competence and workmanship are assessed.
Contractors certified under the scheme for installers of residential and domestic sprinklers have system designs randomly checked to appropriate standards in addition to site inspections.
FIRAS certified contractors are required to log ‘contracts in hand’ on the FIRAS online database. A ‘Certificate of Conformity (Compliance)’ for the completed works is issued from the FIRAS online database.
FIRAS certification is awarded to the contracting company, not the individual employees. Should a contractor wish to increase their scope of certification, a separate application must be made to attain the additional certification.
BM TRADA
BM TRADA is a UKAS accredited certification body which provides independent third party certification fire services for manufacturing, installation and maintenance service for fire doors and a fire stopping installation certification scheme.
Our schemes aim to raise the on-going standard of manufacture, installation and maintenance throughout the lifetime of fire doors ensuring the product’s fire resistance capabilities are maintained.
