53 – 55 Burrfields Road

The building this project was taking place in had been empty for years, so was very run down and dilapidated. We were taken on to bring the building back to life, by giving it a new lease of life and making repairs where needed. The works we completed ranged from redecoration internally and externally, to fitting new fire alarm systems to bring up to regulations.

There were extensive roof repairs needed, so the decision was made that, whilst these were being repaired, new skylights would be also be fitted to provide much more natural daylight within the building.

Within the building there was comprehensive asbestos removal needed, as certain parts of the building tested positive for this. This was all done to the specifications and regulations expected.

We had extensive drainage inspections and reports completed, to ensure that the current pipework, water pipes and waste etc. were still adequate, and any repairs or replacements needed taking care of.

All sanitary ware rectifications were updated as needed.

A new gas central heating system has been installed in the building, with new radiators fitted throughout. Again, bringing the building into the 21st century by making sure it has all the modern-day conveniences that we have all come to expect.

There has been a new fire alarm system fitted that now brings it up to the regulations required as well as new lighting, including an Emergency lighting system.

A completely new suspended ceiling system has been installed, featuring grid tiles.

Complete window replacements, as the original window excavations had all been boarded up, and there were no existing windows or frames to be able to repair. This meant that all of the windows, frames and any other accessories were all required. Complete renovation of door sets and industrial bi-folding doors were removed and fitted with new, making the building look cleaner and more respectable.

The project was completed by decoration taking place internally and externally, giving the overall finished look of the building a dramatic change from when we first started on this project.

The Burrfields building has gone from looking old, run down, derelict and deserted, to being a building fit for any business to be able to move straight into and stand out from the other premises around it, for all the right reasons!
